Who am I?
My name is Jeff Clough. I’m an astrologer, tarot reader, and magician.
My website address is: https://www.jeffclough.net.
What personal data do I collect and why do I collect it?
In brief, I do not intend to collect any personal information from you which you do not choose to share with me explicitly. Any information you do share with me, I do not intend to share with others except as required by law. I take the privacy of this site’s visitors and my clients very seriously.
This web site makes use of a number of technologies and services which likely do collect some information about you, your browser, and your computer. Likewise, your own internet service provider (ISP) almost certainly collects personal information from you, and tracks your activity online to one extent or another.
I have no idea what information Google, Twitter, Facebook, WordPress, your ISP, or my web hosting provider may be collecting as you view and interact with this site.
That said, there are some things I do know and can share them with you.
My hosting provider as well as the software I use to maintain this site keeps track of the number of visitors I receive, and where they are coming from. This includes which website or app may have pointed you here, as well as the country in which your computer or ISP is located.
This information is collected to help with spam detection, security auditing, and it helps me to know which topics or posts visitors to this site are most interested in.
When visitors leave comments on this site, the software I use to manage this site (WordPress) collects the data shown in the comments form, and also logs the visitor’s IP address and browser information to help with spam detection.
When visitors submit a contact form or a request for a consultation, the data you provide is collected by WordPress and sent along to me for the purpose of contacting you, as requested.
I am certain that between WordPress itself, the theme I use, and the plugins I use to maintain this site, at least half a dozen cookies are exchanged between this website and your browser.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
How long do I retain your data?
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
If you submit a contact form or a request for consultation, I also retain your information indefinitely for the purpose of future contacts or consults.
What rights do you have over your data?
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I specifically hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. I have no idea what other information third parties may have.
You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I may be obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where do I send your data?
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Traffic to this website in general may be checked through an automated analytics and/or malicious activity detection service.
I do not knowingly send any other personal information to any other party except as required by law.
How can you contact me?
You may contact me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
